UNDERSTAND THE TREATMENT

What is Tesamorelin?

Tesamorelin is a growth-hormone-releasing hormone analog. An FDA-approved tesamorelin product has a specific indication involving excess abdominal fat in adults with HIV and lipodystrophy. That is different from general weight-loss or anti-aging use.

The starting point is your health history and the reason you are seeking care—not a dosing schedule found online. Your clinician can assess whether a treatment discussion is appropriate and whether a better-studied option makes more sense.

WHAT PEOPLE ASK

Tesamorelin: common questions

What is tesamorelin?

Tesamorelin is a modified growth-hormone-releasing hormone. It signals the pituitary to release growth hormone.

Is tesamorelin FDA-approved?

One tesamorelin product (Egrifta SV) is FDA-approved to reduce excess abdominal fat in adults with HIV who have lipodystrophy. The compounded vial Peps RX lists is not that product and does not share its approval. Tesamorelin is not approved as a general weight-loss or anti-aging treatment.

What are the side effects of tesamorelin?

In the approved product’s trials the most common were joint pain, injection-site redness or itching, pain in the arms or legs, swelling and muscle pain. It can raise blood sugar, so glucose is monitored. It is not used in pregnancy or with active cancer.

Tesamorelin vs sermorelin?

Tesamorelin has controlled trials for one indication; sermorelin has older and smaller studies. See tesamorelin vs sermorelin.

How much does Tesamorelin cost?

Tesamorelin is $170 a month on a one-month plan. That includes the online consultation, the clinician review, supplies, and two-day shipping once the pharmacy dispenses. Three-, six- and twelve-month plans are offered at checkout. If the clinician decides treatment is not appropriate for you, your payment is refunded. See what peptide pricing includes.

Can I get Tesamorelin online?

Yes, through a clinician review. You complete an online health assessment, a licensed clinician reviews it (a phone call may be needed) and decides whether Tesamorelin is appropriate. If it is prescribed, a licensed U.S. compounding pharmacy prepares it and ships it to you. Peps RX serves patients in all 50 states; a prescription is never guaranteed.

PHARMACY & QUALITY

Quality you can check

What a licensed U.S. compounding pharmacy means for your prescription, and what it does not.

Illustrative photo of a gloved pharmacy professional handling a sterile vial
Prepared for one patient

Peps RX prescriptions are compounded by a state-licensed U.S. 503A pharmacy for the individual patient named on the prescription. That is a different pathway from products sold “for research use only,” which are not made or labeled for use in people.

Sterile compounding standards

Injectable preparations are sterile preparations. USP <797> is the national standard for compounding them, covering cleanroom conditions, personnel garbing, and beyond-use dating, and state boards of pharmacy enforce it.

What compounding does not mean

Compounded drugs are not FDA-approved. FDA does not review them for safety, effectiveness, or quality before they are dispensed, and state boards of pharmacy are primarily responsible for overseeing 503A pharmacies.

Check the pharmacy yourself

Your prescription label names the dispensing pharmacy. You can confirm its license on that state’s board of pharmacy website. How to verify a compounding pharmacy.

THE DETAILS MATTER

Good questions. Clear answers.

What does the $170 monthly price include?

The displayed monthly price includes the asynchronous consultation, supplies, and two-day shipping after dispensing. Your medical questionnaire starts the process; a licensed clinician independently determines whether treatment is appropriate.

How much Tesamorelin should I use?

Your dose is determined by the prescribing clinician from your intake form, health history, current medications, and the reason you are seeking care. The strengths listed on this page are product specifications, not instructions for use. Do not calculate a protocol from this catalog or combine treatments without an individualized clinical review.

How long will this vial last?

How long a vial lasts depends on the prescribed dose, schedule, formulation, and pharmacy instructions. The monthly price shown on this page describes the care plan; follow the fulfillment and use directions provided by your clinician and pharmacy.

Is Tesamorelin FDA-approved?

The compounded vial listed here is not the FDA-approved branded product and does not inherit its approval. It is not a general weight-loss treatment. Glucose status, medical history, potential growth-hormone-related effects, and the intended use require clinical review.

When will my order arrive?

The listed price includes two-day shipping once the pharmacy dispenses and ships an approved prescription. It does not mean delivery two days after your first visit. Review, preparation, location, and carrier conditions affect the overall timeline.
